Legal
Effective date: July 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Atlas Diplomacy (“we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the Atlas Diplomacy website and game service located at atlasdip.com, including our Android mobile application (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or clicking a button or checkbox indicating acceptance, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction), you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you must be at least 16 years old to create an account, unless the applicable national law in your country sets a lower age (no lower than 13).
You may not use the Service if you have been previously banned by us or if applicable law prohibits you from using online gaming services.
To use the Service you must register an account with a valid email address and choose a username. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated.
You may register only one account. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate rankings, evade a ban, or gain an unfair advantage is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated accounts.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at privacy@atlasdiplomacy.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your credentials.
Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You may not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your account or any associated ELO rating or game history to another person.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Service.
You must not:
We reserve the right to determine, in our sole discretion, what constitutes a violation of these standards. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.
Each game has a configurable turn deadline. Orders submitted before the deadline will be adjudicated; orders not submitted by the deadline will be treated as a “No Moves Received” (NMR) and units will hold. Repeated NMRs in a ranked game may result in your removal from that game at our discretion.
Deliberately abandoning an active game — for example by ceasing to submit orders without notification — negatively affects other players. Repeated abandonment across multiple games may result in account suspension or restrictions on joining future games.
In Gunboat game modes, direct player-to-player communication outside the game is prohibited. Coordinating with other players via external channels (Discord DMs, email, etc.) in a Gunboat game constitutes cheating.
Game outcomes — including solos, draws, and eliminations — are determined by the adjudicator and the draw-vote mechanism within the Service. We do not manually alter game outcomes except in cases of documented technical error.
Participating in a ranked game indicates your consent to have your ELO rating updated based on the outcome. ELO changes are applied automatically upon game conclusion and are not subject to reversal except in cases of adjudicator error or prohibited conduct as determined by us.
The Service allows you to submit content including usernames, profile images, and in-game messages (“User Content”). You retain ownership of User Content you create.
By submitting User Content, you grant Atlas Diplomacy a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, display, transmit, and otherwise use that content as necessary to operate and provide the Service. This license is limited to service operation and does not permit us to sell or sublicense your User Content to third parties for their own commercial purposes.
User Content must not violate any applicable law, infringe any third-party rights, or breach the conduct standards in Section 4. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without notice.
We do not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for any User Content. Diplomatic messages sent in-game are communications between players; they do not represent the views of Atlas Diplomacy.
ELO ratings and career statistics are calculated automatically based on game outcomes using a Bradley-Terry model and are provided for informational and competitive purposes within the Service. You acknowledge that:
Atlas Diplomacy offers optional Discord integration for game notifications and in-game diplomatic messaging. By enabling Discord integration, you authorize us to send messages to your Discord account via our bot. Your use of Discord is also governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Transactional game-related email reminders (such as turn advances, order deadlines, and game results) are enabled by default and sent to your account email so you don't miss a turn, delivered via our email provider (Resend). These are not marketing emails. You can set a different notification address, or disable email notifications entirely, at any time in your account settings, and every message includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
If you install our Android application and grant notification permission, you consent to receiving push notifications delivered through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device or in-app settings. Delivery of push notifications depends on Google's services and your device, and is not guaranteed.
The mobile application uses Sentry to collect crash and error diagnostics so we can identify and fix problems. Details of the data collected are described in our Privacy Policy.
The Service may, now or in the future, offer optional paid products or subscriptions through the Android application. Any such purchases are processed by Google Play and managed on our side through RevenueCat; we do not receive or store your full payment card details. Purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Pricing, billing, renewal, and refund eligibility for purchases made through Google Play are governed by Google Play's policies; refund requests for Google Play purchases must generally be made through Google. Entitlements are tied to your Atlas Diplomacy account and are non-transferable. At the time these Terms were last reviewed, no paid products are offered.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services (Discord, email providers, Google / Firebase Cloud Messaging, Sentry, RevenueCat, Google Play, etc.) integrated with the Service. Disruption of a third-party service does not constitute a breach of these Terms by us.
The Atlas Diplomacy software, website design, graphics, and original content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without our prior written permission.
“Diplomacy” is a board game originally designed by Allan Calhamer. The Diplomacy trademark and associated intellectual property are owned by Hasbro, Inc. Atlas Diplomacy is an independent, fan-made digital implementation and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by Hasbro, Inc. or any official rights holder. The rules of the game are implemented as a good-faith fan project.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, third-party outages, or circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any feature) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
In the event of a permanent discontinuation of the Service, we will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice to registered users via email.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Atlas Diplomacy and its operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.
We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of the defense of any matter subject to indemnification by you, at your expense. You agree to cooperate with our defense of such claims.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from https://www.atlasdip.com/account/delete, or by contacting us at privacy@atlasdiplomacy.com. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have violated these Terms, engaged in conduct harmful to other users or the Service, or for any other reason we deem appropriate. Where feasible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to respond before a permanent ban.
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6 (license grant for previously submitted content), 9 (intellectual property), 11 (disclaimer), 12 (limitation of liability), 13 (indemnification), and 15 (governing law) survive termination.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which Atlas Diplomacy is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Nothing in this section limits your right, as a consumer in an EU member state or the United Kingdom, to bring claims before the courts of your country of habitual residence or to benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at privacy@atlasdiplomacy.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will try to respond within 30 days.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis only and waive any right to bring or participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Atlas Diplomacy regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of that right or provision.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, internet outages, third-party service failures, or governmental actions.
For questions about these Terms or to report a violation, please contact us at:

Email: privacy@atlasdiplomacy.com
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post a notice within the Atlas Diplomacy application and update the effective date at the top of this page. Where required by law, we will also notify you by email. For minor changes (such as clarifications that do not alter your rights), we may update the Terms without individual notice.
Continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may request account deletion.
